David Rubanzangabo has been producing coffee in Huye Mountain since 2011. He is a philanthropist who constantly strives to make improvements to the wellbeing of the 1330 farmers delivering the ripe cherries to Huye. They all receive fair prices and premiums, and, in addition, they are rewarded with social premiums and quality incentives - such as cows, goats, access to micro-loans, school fees and health insurance. Furthermore, David has driven environmental changes at Huye, initiating a water reduction program, which involves recycling water used for pulping - aiming to reduce water use at the station by a third.

David's drive for quality has brought about a big increase in prices for local farmers. As proof of the high levels of quality that they are producing - Huye Mountain has had great success in the "Cup of Excellence", scoring 2nd place in 2012, and 6th and 11th in 2013 with two competing lots.
