“Inspire to Grow” – A Coffee Tin with a Mission

In collaboration with Mentor Latvia, we’ve created something truly special — a coffee art tin with a powerful social mission.
This is more than just coffee. It’s a chance for a young person to meet someone who believes in them.
A chance to grow and become a strong individual in a society we’re building together — one that values care, responsibility, and empathy.

From Mold to Meaning

Artist Katrīna Neiburga, the creative force behind the tin’s design, shares her story:

The story of mold mushrooms started as an experiment and soon turned into an obsession. I simply fell in love. I grew them at home, studied them under the microscope, filmed thbly and beautifully.
My loved ones told me I was losing my mind, but I couldn’t stop. At one point, it felt like mold was growing in my brain… but after a medical check-up, it turned out — no mold, just em, and observed how they grew — so unpredictaa mind in love.”
“For me, mold became a symbol of how beauty can be completely unexpected, and how life can flourish creatively even in places others overlook.
I’m happy that these mushrooms now live on this coffee tin — inspiring everyone to keep growing.

Mentorship as a Form of Responsibility

Since 2010, Mentor Latvia has supported young people growing up without the care of a supportive family.
They provide emotional and practical help through volunteer mentors who commit to being present in a young person’s life for at least a year.
These mentors are adults who choose to show up — as role models, conversation partners, and people who believe in others.

Edīte Zvirbule, Executive Director of Mentor Latvia, explains:
Sometimes, a cup of coffee is more than a drink. It can be the start of a conversation, the beginning of a relationship, or a thought that later turns into action.
As adults, we must be the best example for the generations to come.

The Coffee That Tells a Story

Gatis Zēmanis, co-founder of Kalve Coffee:
A young person without support is one of the most vulnerable members of society. Just like a work of art on a coffee tin finds its way into people’s kitchens, support for youth must also be made easily accessible. That’s how the idea for a coffee tin with a mission was born.”
