What's special about our coffee?

Coffee is such a wonderful and diverse product, so limiting it to a niche was not our aim - until this day and onward we want to be completely transparent, open and available to anyone and everyone who enjoys coffee, with strong values and top-notch customer service always being a priority.

We want to solve the issue of accessibility in the specialty coffee market - create coffee experiences that allow for a smooth transition from commercial to specialty, and on the other hand - offer a unique taste experience for those who already are immersed in the specialty coffee culture.

That's why we focus on having a wide range of coffees that everyone could enjoy.

Why does roast matter?

At KALVE, we offer our coffees in two main roast levels – light roast (filter) and medium roast (espresso) – each carefully crafted to suit the coffee’s origin and flavor potential.

Roasting is the key to unlocking a coffee’s character – enhancing its regional flavor notes, balancing intensity, and creating a delicious experience in the cup.

Filter Roast (Light Roast)

This roast style is focused on highlighting the natural qualities of the green coffee, especially its origin and terroir. We believe coffee’s potential already exists in the unroasted bean – our role is simply to bring it out.
Light roasts offer brighter, more delicate and nuanced flavors – ideal for filter brewing methods or simple pour-over in a mug.

Espresso Roast (Medium Roast)

This roast level is designed for those who enjoy a more intense and full-bodied flavor. Medium roasts are slightly darker than filter roasts, making the coffee easier to extract and delivering a bolder taste.
While perfect for espresso machines, medium roasts also work well with other brewing methods – especially if you prefer a richer, stronger cup. At KALVE, we roast espresso with precision to match the chosen coffee beans and bring out their best qualities.

How to Brew KALVE Coffee?

Our coffees are suited for a wide range of brewing methods – from in-cup coffee to filter brewers and espresso machines.

  • Our medium roast is crafted for use with espresso equipment and moka pots but also works well with other methods if you're after a stronger flavor.
  • Our light roast is best enjoyed in filter brews. While it’s possible to brew it as espresso, we don’t recommend it, as it may not express its full potential in that method and taste misleading.
