Originally a 1967 cattle ranch, Panama's Hacienda La Esmeralda triggered a global phenomenon in 2004 when the Peterson family isolated a rare, high-altitude tree variety called Gesha—a discovery that changed specialty coffee forever. Today, Hacienda La Esmeralda is split into three distinct farms. Jaramillo sits in a steep, mist-shrouded mountain bowl on Volcán Barú, where competing ocean winds and deep shade create an elegant, incredibly sweet cup bursting with jasmine and bright citrus. Across the valley, Cañas Verdes climbs to a sun-drenched 2,050 meters, utilizing a sharp dry season to stress the trees into producing explosive tropical flavors. Finally, El Velo serves as a research hub, testing over 400 rare cultivars for climate resilience and next-generation cup quality.
A Geisha from the Noria lot at Jaramillo Farm, processed through a 120-hour low-temperature fermentation and dried on raised beds for 17 days, resulting in remarkable clarity and elegance.
Cabaña Abajo 4 ANB - sourced from the lower section of the Cabaña lot at Cañas Verdes Farm, this Geisha underwent a 120-hour anaerobic fermentation followed by 41 days of drying on raised beds, developing exceptional depth and complexity.
This artisan blend captures the elegance, depth, and remarkable complexity of some of the finest coffees on Earth.

This coffee is roasted for filter - meaning, a light roast. We roast our seasonal coffees in this manner because we wish for the coffee to shine as it is - for it to display the characteristics that have produced its excellent quality. This kind of roast allows the natural flavours, acids and sugars of the coffee to be in the front, and lets you learn about its origin through taste. As the name says, it's best used in filter coffee methods, such as drip or immersion, so while making an espresso from these is possible, it could prove tricky.
We recommend you enjoy this coffee within 6 months of the roasting date.
Store in a dry and cool place, between +16 and +25 degrees.

This coffee's cycle from farm to your cup has been one of honesty and hard work. We source our coffees from producers that use environmentally-friendly growing practices, roast it so that it's consistently good, package it in materials that either recycle or can be refilled and deliver the coffee with emissions in mind. Sustainability is one of our core values, and the path of our coffee demonstrates that.
We believe that good specialty coffee has to be accessible to everyone, so we are very proud to work with partners who share this belief. If you wish to deliver a memorable coffee experience to your guests, get in touch with us and together we can make that happen.
