Our first international artist tin!

For Survival Kit 17, we collaborated with Icelandic artist Egill Sæbjörnsson to create a special edition of one of our most loved coffees: Chocolate Bar.

The tin was created to accompany “Pain & Other Recyclables”, an installation by Ágústa Oddsdóttir, Egill Sæbjörnsson and Mosi Kristjáns.

Drawings, video animations and even crayons form an imaginary landscape that also becomes a café, based on Egill Sæbjörnsson’s “Espressobar” series. And this time, we became part of the artwork too!

The installation also carries the legacy of Sigríður Björnsdóttir, one of the pioneers of art therapy:

“I believe that art is intrinsic to all people, young and old. We all have the ability to experience and react by expressing without thinking. This has to do with getting in touch with and harnessing the creative force that lies within us all.”

Our special edition tin is available online and at our coffee shops in Riga!

This coffee is roasted for espresso, meaning that it will present with higher intensity, rich texture and sweetness, lower acidity and more distinct caramelization flavours. Espresso roasts have higher solubility, meaning that you will be able to access the coffee flavours with more ease. Even though it is more suited for espresso machines and mokka pots, you can definitely enjoy it in any other method as well if you're looking for a richer cup. Espresso roasts are at their best starting from 2 weeks from the roast date, so take your time with it.

We recommend you enjoy this coffee within 6 months of the roasting date.
Store in a dry and cool place, between +16 and +25 degrees.
