East Java Farm, located in Bondowoso, Sukasari Village, Indonesia, spans 68 hectares at elevations of 1,200 to 1,750 meters. Farms owner Pak Andi is a lifelong coffee farmer, who learned coffee cultivation from his parents, transitioned from Robusta to Arabica coffee in 2000 to meet growing demand. By 2008, he was producing commercial Arabica and exploring specialty coffee. Today the farm grows Komasti, Andungsari, Bourbon, Kartika, and Abyssinia cultivars under shade trees with organic fertilizers. The harvest season runs from April to September.
Pak Andi and local farmers are trained in proper cultivation and cherry-picking techniques, selecting only ripe cherries without pesticides. Farm maintenance includes manual pruning, weed removal, and cultivating shade trees, including native forest species, to ensure the best conditions for growing coffee.
